Taken in early evening, this photograph presents a lively mix of colorful tulips. From beyond the image's left edge, the setting Sun casts horizontal rays that give the flower bed a little golden warmth, despite the chill of early May at close of day. Against green leaves and distant trees, bright red tulips provide little shots of color, drawing the eye through the more numerous white and purple blossoms.
